Kongsberg Satellite Services Joins GeoIgnite 2026 as Supporting Sponsor and Speaker

Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) has joined GeoIgnite 2026 as a supporting sponsor and will also contribute to the conference program as a speaker. Based in Norway, KSAT operates a global network of ground stations and delivers satellite data acquisition and processing services for Earth observation and space missions. Organizations working at this level play an important role in ensuring reliable access to geospatial data that supports decision-making across sectors.

GeoIgnite 2026 will take place May 11–13 at the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre in Ottawa, Canada. KSAT provides satellite ground station operations, data downlink, and near real-time delivery of Earth observation data to commercial, government, and defence users. Its infrastructure—comprising hundreds of antennas across strategically located sites worldwide—enables rapid data access, in some cases delivering processed imagery to end users within minutes of acquisition.

At GeoIgnite, KSAT will present on the role of satellites as a critical source of situational awareness. Their session will explore how multiple sensor types—including optical, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), radio frequency (RF), and AIS—are combined to monitor activity across both onshore and offshore environments. The presentation will also highlight how rapid data acquisition and processing supports time-sensitive applications, particularly in security-focused contexts where timely insight is essential.

“GeoIgnite highlights how different parts of the geospatial ecosystem come together to support real-world decision-making,” said Jonathan Murphy, Founder and CEO of GoGeomatics Canada. “KSAT’s ability to deliver near real-time satellite data underscores the importance of operational infrastructure in advancing geospatial applications.”

GeoIgnite is Canada’s national geospatial leadership conference, bringing together leaders from government, industry, academia, defence, and Indigenous organizations to explore the technologies, policies, and partnerships shaping the future of geospatial.
