The Autodesk 2010 product line has been released. The release focuses on sustainable design and infrastructure modeling, among other things to help engineers and designers to take advantage of infrastructure stimulus opportunities.
AutoCAD 2010 software for infrastructure modeling, including AutoCAD Map 3D, Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise, Autodesk Topobase, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD Electrical, is designed for users in telecommunications firms, utilities, and public works. New features are designed to help users design more sustainable, smart electric utility grids. For example, a new circuit builder tool in AutoCAD Electrical 2010 enables designers to analyze the energy efficiency of circuits and make more sustainable engineering decisions.
The 2010 product line
includes significantly expanded tools for energy analysis including the Autodesk Ecotect Analysis 2010, a comprehensive sustainable analysis tool that includes simulation and analysis functionality for energy, water, and carbon analysis capabilities.
As I blogged about previously, AutoCAD and AutoCAD-based products like AutoCAD Map 3D now include 2D Geometric Constraints and Parametrics. There is a preview video which is worth a proverbial thousand words.
Webcasts and details of the 2010 product line release are available.
