Rod Radar Introduces the First Ever Bucket Ground Penetrating Radar
The Live-Dig Radar is Hailed as a “Game-Changer”
Participants in the March 22, 2022, live stream presentation by Yuval Barnea, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at RodRodar, were witnesses to several firsts.
Barnea introduced the patented Live-Dig Radar (LDR), the first ever Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) integrated with an excavator digging bucket. The LDR can be added easily to any excavator, and easily adaptable for simple operation.
This presentation is the first time ever that the start-up, Israeli company of international experts and professionals, RodRadar, has publicly shared information on its real-time utility strike avoidance innovation.
With over one million underground utilities hit all over the world, causing 100 billion in damages , the LDR is hailed as a game-changer by industry leaders. The LDR improves safety, cost, and efficiency of digging in a built-up environment.
RodRadar’s innovation takes into account one-third of utility strikes are caused from the bucket of the machinery, shallow utilities, and the operator has no way of knowing how to detect and avoid the strike. This is where the LDR comes in.
The LDR scans the earth and gives immediate readings of position and depth of any buried utilities. This innovation gives real-time accurate data and is able to detect any type of utility. LDR is the “last line of defense,” and improves safety, productivity, and efficiency.
Barnea spoke on the growing awareness of utility strikes and their impacts, industry efforts and trends, including: legislations, new standards, data sharing, technology innovations, and enforcing processes.
A deep, heartfelt thank you to RodRadar, a Silver Sponsor for SUMSF, 2022 (The Subsurface Utility Mapping Strategy Forum).
