Report for 450 Participants & Sponsors: 2016 GoGeomatics Canada Back to School Socials

Last month the Canadian geomatics community came together to celebrate the start of the new school year by welcoming new and returning students to college and universities across Canada.  Over 450 people came out to our 2016 Back to School GoGeomatics socials across Canada. With the help of our sponsors we had the largest and most successful set of events since we began to host socials across the country.  We also have new groups starting up! gogeomatics_vert_300

It is people that make up a community. If you come to our networking events you will find that “Canada’s Geomatics Community” has a lot of great people in it.  Our thanks go to the 450 individuals that came out to support each other and the geomatics sector in Canada.

Together we continue to build upon our sectors identity and strengthen the “Geomatics” brand, not only in Canada but around the world.

A special thank you to Alex Miller the President of Esri Canada who came out to talk to students and young professional at the Toronto GoGeomatics Social this year.  We appreciate your support Alex!

These networking socials would not take place without the support of our gold level national sponsors and our regional silver level sponsors. Our thanks to them for helping us put these important sector events together.

Gold Level Sponsors: Esri Canada, the Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA), and the Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG).

Silver Level Sponsors: Digital Globe, Langara Open GIS program, Stantec, Selkirk College, Brandt, McElhanney, GM Blue Plan, Lim Geomatics, G-Locate, Kim Geomatics and Halifax Water

A big thank you  As well to our media sponsor the Canadian GIS & Geomatics website for their help promoting the events and our sponsors brands.

GoGeomatics Group Leaders:

Our warmest thanks and appreciation to our Group Leaders across Canada. These are the people that take time out of their lives to create opportunities for others to network and socialize.  You can find a complete list of their upcoming socials and groups and if you go to their social you might like to buy them a beer.  We couldn’t do this without them.
