2017 Annual Meeting of the Canadian Association of Geographers at York University

cagWe invite scholars and professionals with geography-related interests to submit abstracts and special session proposals for the 2017 Annual Conference and Meetings of the Canadian Association of Geographers held at York University, May 29- June 2, 2017. The conference theme is Towards a Just and Sustainable World, reflecting the values of York University’s Department of Geography and the Canadian Association of Geographers.

The conference begins with an icebreaker event on the Monday evening, has oral presentations, posters and special events from Tuesday to Friday, and field trips throughout the conference.

We encourage all that are able to join to make a contribution to the conference.  The conference will feature conventional paper presentations, keynote addresses and lectures, posters, and roundtable discussions. We encourage participants to address our conference theme. Deadlines for submissions are as follows:

Deadlines for submission

All presenters, whether they give an oral presentation or participate in a special or poster session, must submit a 200-word abstract (in English or French) to via the abstract submission page.

December 16, 2016 (Special Session Proposal Deadline) Last day to propose a special session via our website.  Session organizers will have the responsibility for soliciting papers for their sessions. All participants must be registered to present in any session.

February 10, 2017 (Abstract Submission Deadline) Last day to submit abstracts for either special or general paper sessions via the conference website.

February 24, 2017 (Poster Submission Deadline) Highly visual research or preliminary findings may be presented in a poster format. Poster sessions will be organized by theme and allow for exchange between authors and attendees delegates.

April 1, 2017 (Early-bird registration deadline). The last day to register to take advantage of discounted fee.
