Jonathan Murphy Joins the Geo Week Advisory Board

Jonathan Murphy Opens GeoIgnite 2019

GoGeomatics’ Jonathan Murphy has accepted a seat on the Advisory Board for Geo Week 2024! This event promises to be a significant gathering for the geospatial and location technology industries. The next edition of Geo Week takes place February 11—13th, 2024 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

The Advisory Board is responsible for recommending conference topics and speakers, reviewing submitted abstracts, consulting on the program and acting as a resource to develop different aspects of the event.

“I am honored to serve on the Advisory Board of Geo Week. It’s an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experts and innovators in the geospatial industry, and I look forward to helping shape the future of this incredible sector,” said Jon.

Jon has founded and chaired many notable events in Canada, including GeoIgnite, Canada’s premier geospatial leadership event. Additionally, he is the co-founder of SUMSF, the Subsurface Utility Mapping Strategy Forum, alongside Geoff Zeiss. He also founder of Lidar CANEX a completely virtual B2B event matching reality capture lidar vendors with practicing 3D professionals from Canada and beyond. Jon holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Calgary and advanced diplomas in GIS and geomatics from COGS. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. In 2020, he joined the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) committee MC/ISO/TC 211 for Geographic information/Geomatics.

Jonathan’s appointment to the Advisory Board for Geo Week 2024 underscores his dedication to advancing the geospatial industry and fostering collaboration among professionals, organizations and researchers. His extensive experience and insights will contribute to 2024’s Geo Week being a valuable experience for all attendees.
