Global Media, Events, and Associations Endorse Canada’s National Geomatics Expo
On behalf of the community we are pleased to acknowledge the support from some key organizations for Canada’s National Geomatics Expo. Our thanks go to the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) for promoting geospatial information and services; the World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC) for enhancing the role of the geospatial industry; and the Canadian chapter of buildingSMART International for advancing BIM standards. We also appreciate Coordinates magazine for their work in positioning and navigation technologies, Geo Week event for integrating the built environment with advanced technologies, and GeoIgnite for the work there advocating for geospatial leadership and community engagement. Your support is greatly appreciated.
The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is an international consortium of more than 500 businesses, government agencies, research organizations, and universities driven to make geospatial (location) information and services FAIR – Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.
OGC’s member-driven consensus process creates royalty free, publicly available, open geospatial standards. Existing at the cutting edge, OGC actively analyzes and anticipates emerging tech trends, and runs an agile, collaborative Research and Development (R&D) lab – the OGC Innovation Program – that builds and tests innovative prototype solutions to members’ use cases.
The World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC) is a registered Not-for-Profit trade association of commercial geospatial companies representing the geospatial ecosystem’s entire value chain. WGIC aims to enhance the geospatial industry’s role and strengthen its contributions to the global economy and society. WGIC facilitates the exchange of knowledge within the geospatial industry and creates more significant business opportunities for the stakeholders through partnerships and collaborations in thematic areas of global significance.
The Canadian chapter of buildingSMART International has been established to provide the appropriate body and home for Canadian BIM Standards Development through participation in the development of international BIM standards as the voice of the Canadian marketplace and to promote the awareness of buildingSMART International (bSI) within Canada.
COORDINATES, is an exclusive monthly magazine on positioning, navigation, associated technologies and applications. It intends to widen the horizon and broaden the canvas of these technologies from existing dominant fields to newer application areas and newer and wider target audiences.
Coordinates is available, both in print and online. The online version of the complete magazine including the AD’s is freely downloadable from www.mycoordinates.org. It is widely circulated in Asia, Pacific, Mid-East, Africa, Europe, and North America.
Geo Week, February 10-12, 2025, is the premier event for increased integration between the built environment, advanced airborne/terrestrial technologies, and commercial 3D technologies. It was created as a response to the changing needs of built world and geospatial professionals, and to acknowledge the convergence of technology taking place currently. New technological innovations, the need for remote workflows, and hardware breakthroughs are redefining expectations across teams, organizations, and entire industries.
GeoIgnite is the premier brand for “Geo” leadership and Trade Show events in Canada. Organized and hosted by GoGeomatics we are the platform for sharing ideas, engaging the sector, business development and sustaining and growing the community. These events highlight the integration between the built environment, advanced airborne/terrestrial technologies, and commercial 3D technologies, surveying, earth observation, and mapping.
