Calgary Workshop: Create Interactive Web Maps with Leaflet (JavaScript library)

Are you in the Calgary area and interested in learning web mapping with JavaScript?

Join our introductory workshop on Leaflet, an open-source JavaScript library for mobile-friendly interactive maps, on Tuesday March 31st, at 6:30PM. No prior programming knowledge required.

This workshop will guide participants through creating a simple choropleth map (thematic polygon map) using Leaflet.

Please prepare to bring the following to the workshop:

1) Your laptop
2) Access to a personal (free) GitHub account (https://github.com/), which will be used to host your web map. (I recommend trying to set up your GitHub account prior to the workshop, but if you need help, I can give you a hand when you arrive.)

We have a private room booked at Brewster’s (Beltline location on 11th Avenue)—just ask for GoGeomatics (or Morgan Ostrander) at the front.

Event Schedule:
6:30 pm – Social
7:00 – Workshop
8:00 – Social/further questions
8:30 – Wrap-up

Please RSVP via our meetup page. We look forward to seeing you!
