“150 Years of Cartography: Past, Present and Future”

This conference will celebrate 150 years of Canada and its maps, organised by the Canadian Cartographic Association (CCA). Anyone interested in maps / cartography is welcome to attend; it is a gathering of practitioners, educators, researchers from public and private sectors and the community at large. Applications range from traditional topographic and thematic mapping to online viewers and applications such as Google Earth / Maps, as well as mobile apps on hand-held devices. Mapping today is for everyone.

All registrations include morning and afternoon nutritional breaks. Lunch at the Annual General Meeting on Friday afternoon is also included, as well as a pre-dinner “Maps, Snacks and Chats” wine and cheese event on the evening of Thursday June 1.
An informal ice-breaker will be organized for the night of Wednesday May 31 at Mike’s Place, a university pub. Group dinner reservations at a local restaurant will also be arranged for the night of Thursday June 1, where CCA attendees will gather for an evening of fun and cameraderie. Also, we are planning a tour of the Canadian Museum of History and another interesting Ottawa area location for Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning. More info to come.
