Queen’s University Department of Geography and Planning
Geography and Planning is an interdisciplinary field that explores the relationships between human beings and the world around them. This breadth of study offers meaningful learning experiences for students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and provides diverse opportunities for research. The Department of Geography and Planning is unique in bridging the social sciences and humanities (human geography and urban planning) with earth system science (physical geography and environmental planning), and offers BA, BSc, MA, MSc, MPL and PhD degree programs as well as a Certificate in Geographic Information Science and a Certificate in Urban Planning Studies.
The Carleton Department of Geography and Environmental Studies is a community of scholars concerned about the climate crisis, inequality, colonialism, and social and environmental injustice. The department is a collegial, research-intensive group strongly committed to ensuring equity and expanding diversity, both in terms of the backgrounds of their faculty and in their curricular offerings for Carleton’s wide-ranging student body.
The department offers three programs of study leading to an undergraduate degree in Geography, Geomatics and Environmental Studies. Students can obtain a B.A. or a B.Sc., Honours, or Combined Honours Degree.
