GoGeomatics welcomes our new Marketing Specialist!

Hello there! My name is Tamara Kassem and it’s my pleasure to introduce myself as the new Marketing Specialist for GoGeomatics. I graduated from the University of Toronto and Sheridan College with a Digital Enterprise Management and Digital Communications specialist program.

I’ve been in the marketing field for almost 3 years now and I love it! The marketing industry is constantly changing and evolving. I find it super interesting, because there are so many ways to do it. I also have experience in event planning, from idea conception to programming and day-of logistics.

I love being on the forefront of social media marketing and helping uncover and discover new insights. Social media continues to bring out the best of my half-art/half-science personality. Committing to building any brand online is not an easy job, but it sure is a fun one! You get to explore the brand from different angles, whether its through content creation, client communication or event management. The key is to always keep an open mind and pay attention to the smallest details.

What excited me about GoGeomatics is the industry; it is one of the fastest growing technology sectors. I am someone that is constantly thriving to learn new marketing strategies and methodologies. What’s also fascinating is that its so diverse, it isn’t just used in science; almost every industry relies on GIS analysis, communication and data performance. Its all about the raw data! You can’t work in the GIS or Marketing sector if you don’t have the passion for the database; understanding, collecting and manipulating it. Using that database allows specialists like me, and businesses, to know where their best customers and prospects are located. As a result, allowing us to target direct marketing effectively and allocate budget and other marketing resources efficiently.

Isn’t that so charming? I think a-lot of people may not be fully aware of the geospatial technology , which is why GoGeomatics has become the most popular communications hub promoting the Canadian Geospatial community, across Canada and Internationally!

This exciting opportunity will allow me to gain a higher level of accuracy and have the ability to integrate more complex data as a basis for planning regional sales and marketing activities.

I am beyond thrilled to start my journey at GoGeomatics and make some magic happen with the team!
