New plenary speaker joins GeoIgnite 2019 in Ottawa: CEO Nadine Alameh of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)
GeoIgnite is thrilled to announce the newest plenary speaker to enhance our agenda June 18th: Nadine Alameh, Chief Executive Officer of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).
Nadine is a major leader in international geospatial interoperability standards. Having been a successful entrepreneur and small business owner before joining the OGC, Nadine is a technical and business expert with a passion for information exchange, technology, process innovation. She has been with the OGC for several years, previously serving as Director and Executive Director of the OGC’s Interoperability Program.
The OGC is the international voluntary consensus standards organization. More than 500 commercial, governmental, non-profit and research organizations collaborate within the OGC to encourage the development of open standards for geospatial content, Internet of Things, GIS data processing, and data sharing. The OGC standards support interoperable solutions that ‘geo-enable’ the Web, wireless, and location services. Canadian geospatial professionals rely on the OGC for accessible geospatial information and services that they can use for any application.
With Nadine Alameh joining the GeoIgnite schedule, our inaugural event in Ottawa is becoming a hotspot for innovation and a gathering of the most influential decision-makers in geospatial, Big Data, and location technology.
