12 Amazing Eastern Canadian Spring & Summer Conferences for 2024

In my 20+ years in the industry, I’ve never witnessed such a remarkable resurgence in the Canadian Geo community as in 2024. Eastern Canada, in particular, is abuzz with an unprecedented number of outstanding conferences, AGMs, and leadership events. It’s a true testament to our community’s resilience and collaborative spirit.

The AGM provides an opportunity to engage with industry professionals, share knowledge, and discuss the latest developments and trends in land surveying. We have a comprehensive program lined up, including informative sessions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities.

National Geomatics Competition

March 14-17, 2024 | Sherbrooke, QC

The National Geomatics Competition (NGC) is a student-led consulting engineering competition in the field of geomatics. ​The NGC hosts teams of undergraduate students from schools all across Canada. These teams are presented with a problem dealing with  various aspects ​of geomatics, and must come up with a solution. The teams present their solutions in front of a panel of judges, consisting of industrial and academic experts in the industry. Social activities, technological demos and conferences on the most recent updates from the industry are scheduled throughout the weekend.

GeoIgnite Canada’s National Leadership Conference

May 14-15, 2024 | Ottawa, ON

This national event brings together senior members of government, business executives and thought leaders from IT and location technology sectors. This conference encourages collaboration between the public and private sectors for the advancement of Canada’s geospatial sector. Annual National Surveyors Conference

May 21-24, 2024 | Cardigan, PEI

The 18th National Surveyors’ Conference will be co-hosted by Professional Surveyors Canada and Association of Canada Lands Surveyors.  The annual National Surveyors Conference is the only event that brings together professional surveyors, industry experts and leading speakers from across Canada and around the world to connect, share and learn about the Surveying Profession.

Canadian Hydrographic Conference 2024

May 27-30, 2024 | St. John’s, NL

“Unveiling our Blue Planet” is the theme of CHC2024.  With important international initiatives underway, including the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and the Nippon Foundation/GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project, the requirement to better understand the ‘blue’ part of our planet is gaining much-needed attention.

Under our major theme, we are highlighting five key factors that will steer and facilitate our work to advance hydrography:  Understanding Climate Change, The Blue Economy, Partnering and Collaboration, Technological Advances and Education and Careers.
