buildingSMART International Standards Summit – Montreal 2022
For the first time since 2014, the buildingSMART International Standards Summit will be held in North America from October 18, to October 21, 2022.
The Summit will take place in Montreal, Quebec, and be co-hosted by buildingSMART Canada and Groupe BIM du Quebec. The topic of this year’s Summit is “How to Drive Digital Transformation to Facilitate Resilience in the Built Asset Industry through International Collaboration.”
The digitization process is rapidly increasing, and the Summit gives the opportunity to address and think about the urgent situation of the built assets industry as it faces pressures related to resilience and sustainability.
An estimated 600 international BIM and Digital Transformation experts are expected to take part in the Summit’s many discussions, exhibitions, demonstrations, and conferences. Subjects like openBIM, open standards, harmonization of processes and information modeling for industries involved in handling assets will be discussed during the Summit.
The first ever National Conference on “How to Enable a National Digital Twin Ecosystem through openBIM and Connected Technologies” is being held at the same place during the same days as the International Summit. Participants will discuss topics, see demonstrations, exhibitions, meet leaders, and hear about provincial and national initiatives from both buildingSMART and Groupe BIM du Quebec.
