Reporting to the Digital Construction Manager, the Digital Construction Coordinator will be responsible to oversee the on-site digital construction related activities on projects in collaboration with the project team, client, consultant, and trade contractors. They will also facilitate the implementation of Digital Construction on project sites.
This position is based in the Richmond BC office and site locations.
What You Will Be Working On
General Responsibilities
- Perform various project duties related to project Digital Construction deployment as required.
- Perform Design coordination and assist in identifying constructability issues with the project team and subcontractors.
- Facilitate along with site team site logistics plan in a model environment and facilitate and assist site team in the development of schedule visualization models. Also, video export will be required on ad-hoc basis.
- Responsible as “Model Administrator” for assigned projects.
- Assist training other project staff and subcontractors on digital construction related software and workflows as required.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the district Digital Construction lead
Ensure model accuracy for project specific requirements
- Maintain and facilitate models including structure, interior and exterior architectural elements and MEP systems (as applicable/where required).
- Coordinate with BIM service providers and subcontractors.
- Assist in the model development process to illustrate contractor questions and solutions.
- Coordinate 3D laser scans/point cloud models.
- Accumulate facilities management related information from project stakeholders for incorporation into digital construction model, as required.
- Distribute new and revised models as applicable to Change Management documentation.
- Compile contract VDC close out documentation as assigned.
Schedule Visualization
- Work with project team to develop implement schedule visualization workflows
- Educate and guide site team on the workflows related to schedule visualization
- Prepare 4D simulations on ad-hoc basis
Consultant Coordination
- Assist the project teams to develop healthy dialog with consultants and designers.
- Facilitate the timely and orderly collection and/or coordination of all consultant BIM models and
- Coordinate, as applicable, with consultant Model Managers and Coordinators, to clarify and update consultant design models.
- Lead model coordination meetings
- Assist, based on project requirements, in the administration of the BIM Execution Plan as prescribed by either the Consultant or Client.
Subcontractor/Trade Coordination
- Assist with updating, maintaining and distributing documents to field and subcontractors.
- Lead model coordination meetings
- Assist in coordination of models with internal and subcontractor detailers and modelers Record coordination sign offs.
What We Are Looking For
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture
- Completion of Construction Management Certificate Program or equivalent an asset
- 4 years’ experience working with digital construction related software, primarily Revit
- 4 years of working experience in Revizto, Fuzor, and assemble or relevant software
- Construction knowledge and/or related work experience an asset
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, and a general understanding of MS Project/Primavera P6
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in challenging, fast paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
As per Section 2 of the BC Pay Transparency Act, this position is eligible for a compensation range of $60,000-80,000.
