I want to thank everybody who came out to our first Calgary social on March 6.  I received so many new geomatics business cards to add to the GoGeomatics Canada’s growing collection.  This really was a great networking event with lots of interesting individuals and companies. I just got back from the Calgary social and promised Deanna, our Community Manager, I would get a post up and some pictures right away. So here it is!

TECTERRA was kind enough to purchase the munchies for the event. So I would be remiss to not to give them a big thank you!  We were in Calgary, so a geomatics event would not be complete without them.  A thank you also goes out to Richard Gorecki who represented TECTERRA at the social.

We had approximately 25 people turn out to the event; a great mix of of geomatics professionals from all sectors of geomatics in Calgary.  A treat for me was getting to meet so many of my Linkedin connections face-to-face.  Who was there you ask?  We had C4i Consultants, Chartis Remote Sensing Solutions, UAV Geomatics, Advanced Spatial Design Inc., METIMount Royal University, Worley Parsons, FACETCENOVUS, and the Athabaskan Resource Company.  There were also plenty of job seekers at the social as well.

Everyone told me they had a great time and were looking forward to the next event.  We will be posting dates soon so don’t forget to check out the GoGeomatics Canada homepage for upcoming event postings. If you would like to be added to the Calgary social emailing list, please send me an email at [email protected]
