We have just completed our fourth annual Back to School Socials across Canada and our community continues to grow and thrive. I was fortunate to have visited 7 of the 12 events this year. I’m always impressed by the caliber of the leadership in our groups as well as the enthusiasm of the participants. These events are where we welcome new and returning students as well as grads to our sector.
Next year will be a special occasion as we mark the 5th anniversary of these events from coast to coast. We will also be welcoming new groups in Saskatchewan and New Brunswick to the family this month. If you are interested in supporting the GoGeomatics Canada community please send us an email to start a group or become a sponsor. Use the contact form at the bottom of the page.
This year we had 400 members of Canada’s geospatial community come out to share snacks, talk location technology and network. Our groups run the gamut of ten to thirty geomatics folks getting together, to the whopping big groups like Toronto and Calgary, with sixty and seventy-five attending those socials. No matter the size the focus is on supporting the next generation of Canadian geomatics professionals as a community.
Check out the pictures below. See you all next year!
None of this would be possible without the support and attention of our Gold and Silver sponsors. These organisation are leaders in the community and we thank them. This year our Gold Sponsors included:
GoGeomatics Thunder Bay
