September: Join us for the 2015 GoGeomatics Back to School Socials

The 2nd Annual GoGeomatics Canada Back to School Socials are happening this September.  To kick off the 2015 school year, GoGeomatics is welcoming everyone to our Canada-Wide Back to School Socials this September. We encourage new and returning students to come out to this free event and enjoy a much-needed study-break. Mingle with students from other programs, industry professionals, and managers. The Canadian geomatics community is close-knit, and these socials are a great way to build up contact for co-op placements, internships, and jobs. Not a student? That’s okay, you’re invited too! Come out, meet some students and help welcome them into the industry. We would love to see people from all areas of geomatics like GIS, remote sensing, geography, and surveying at this community event.

We are going to giving away door prizes like the newest books in GIS & Web Mapping.  Prof. Emmanuel Stefanakis of UNB  has provided copies of his latest book entitled “Web Mapping and Geospatial Web Services: An Introduction” for each social as well as another book he has recently published Called  Geographic Databases and Information Systems. GoGeomatics thanks Prof Stefanakis for his generosity and support of the community.

We will also have free snacks for the participants like, like wings and nachos at the socials. Sponsors like Esri Canada have also generously provided swag to raffle as well.
