Brandt expands positioning technology offering into Atlantic Canada

REGINA, Feb. 6, 2015 – Brandt Tractor is pleased to announce the expansion of their commitment to the growing Canadian positioning technology market through the acquisition of On Grade, Topcon Positioning Systems’ exclusive Atlantic Canada distributor. With this acquisition, Brandt’s Positioning Technology Division is now able to provide customers with greater access to sales and service for surveying equipment, positioning systems and machine control products from Topcon and other leading manufacturers. Brandt has been an award winning, exclusive distributor of Topcon positioning technology in Western Canada since 2010.

“We are very pleased to be able to deliver even greater value to our Atlantic Canada construction, forestry and surveying customers,” says Brandt President, Shaun Semple. “These technologies are key to their success in the future and with this acquisition, we are better positioned than ever to actively partner with them for growth.”

On Grade has been the exclusive distributor for Topcon products for Atlantic Canada since 2001, making it an ideal addition to the Brandt team. With its commitment to customer service and expert sales and technical staff, On Grade has built a reputation as a top choice for GPS, Lasers, Total Stations, Machine Control Automation, and supplies.

“This is an important step forward for us,” adds Joe Chisholm, Director of Sales for Brandt’s Positioning Technology Division. “With this acquisition, we are ensuring that our Atlantic Canada customers will all get ready access to a full range of the very best positioning products on the market.”

Brandt will continue to serve On Grade customers at the 3 re-branded branches located in Dartmouth, NS; Dieppe, NB; and Paradise, NL and will continue to employ the entire On Grade team.  Former On Grade President Bob Bishara will move into a new role as Branch Manager for Brandt’s Positioning Technology Division in Atlantic Canada. Mike Babarick and Bill Penny will offer their expertise to our customers in Sales Manager roles and Scott Casey will join the Brandt team in Engineered Services.

The acquisition took effect January 9, 2015 and will not result in any interruption of service for existing On Grade customers.
