The First Nelson GoGeomatics Social Was a Hit
The first ever Nelson GoGeomatics Social met on Tuesday, May 26, and we’re pleased to say that it was a big success!
Twenty-five people showed up to Mike’s Place Pub from all over the Nelson/Kootenay area. The attendees were a good mix of people from different sectors of the industry: students, a cartographer, the regional Esri representative, and GIS practitioners from government, forestry, utilities, and environmental consulting.
Everyone was excited about the new group, and had a great evening coming together to meet and greet, network, and chat geomatics in a casual environment. The group is looking forward to participating in more events in the future. The next Nelson GoGeomatics Social is Thursday, June 25 (6PM).
This new social group helps us reach more corners of the country, and create a strong geospatial community across Canada. We also have monthly socials in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Niagara, Toronto, and Ottawa.
We’ll soon be taking a break from the socials for July and August and gearing up for our 2nd Annual Back to School Social!
