The GoGeomatics Expo Welcomes the OGC and the CAG as association sponsors

We are thrilled to share that the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and Canadian Association of Geographers (CAG) are association sponsors for the GoGeomatics Expo in Calgary, taking place November 6 to 8, 2023.

OGC logoThe Open Geospatial Consortium is a collective problem-solving community of experts from more than 500 businesses, government agencies, research organizations, and universities driven to make geospatial/location information and services FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable). The global OGC Member-Community engages in a mix of activities related to location-based technologies: developing consensus-based OpenStandards and best-practice; collaborating on agile Innovation Initiatives; engaging in community meetings, events, and workshops; and more.

OGC’s unique standards development process moves at the pace of innovation, with constant input from technology forecasting, practical prototyping, real-world testing, and community engagement. OGC bridges disparate sectors, domains, and technology trends, and encourages the cross-pollination of ideas between different communities of practice to improve decision-making at all levels. OGC is committed to creating an inclusive and sustainable future.

The Canadian Association of Geographers (CAG) is a non-profit, charitable organization that is committed to the dissemination of geographic research and the promotion of geography as a key discipline in education, research, and in the public and private sectors, nationally and internationally. Members of the CAG are part of a community of geographic scholars and professionals who are highly engaged on social, environmental, and scientific issues. The CAG hosts an Annual Conference for geographers from across the country and beyond to meet, network, and share their ideas about the theories, methods, and practice of geography, and to share their passion for the discipline.
