OGC’s Trevor Taylor Will Speak at Upcoming Toronto Social

Summer’s almost here, and that means GoGeomatics only has one more Toronto social to go before taking a break for July and August. Don’t miss out on our last social of the season, especially because this month, Trevor Taylor of the Open Geospatial Consortium will trevor taylorbe speaking to the crowd.

Trevor Taylor, currently responsible for Services for Asia and the Americas at OGC, has over 25 years of experience in the international Earth Observation community. With a background in geography, Mr. Taylor has worked with the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing, Dipix Technologies, Interra (now InterMap) Technologies, and for the last 15 years, PCI Geomatics, where his last position was Director of Business Development with a focus on Central and South America.

Trevor has significant global experience in a wide variety of technical, client services, project, business and strategic planning activities. He will speaking to the group about the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), an international industry consortium of 464 companies, government agencies and universities participating in a consensus process to develop publicly available interface standards. OGC Standards support interoperable solutions that “geo-enable” the Web, wireless and location-based services and mainstream IT. The standards empower technology developers to make complex spatial information and services accessible and useful with all kinds of applications.

After his talk, you’ll have the opportunity to ask Trevor questions, and chat and socialize with him and the other geomatics professionals who attend. It’s going to be a great event, so if you’re in Toronto on June 27, make sure stop by the Fox & Fiddle Pub at 7:00. Remember that GoGeomatics Socials are always free and always fun.
